The installation operations of the SPD12A Wellhead Jacket were successfully completed by Deep Offshore Technology Co. (DOT) at 7:00 AM, Friday 1st May 2009.

The Jacket is 72 meters high and weighs approximately 1900 tons. The advanced engineering technology employed for the installation operations were carried out by Iranian experts using the HL 5000 heavy lift Crane Barge.

It is worth mentioning that, phase 12 of the South Pars Gas Field Development, includes three (3) wellhead jackets of which SPD12A is the first of the three to be installed. The position of this jacket is located at 100 km south west of Tombak and stands 70 meters above the seabed. The other two jackets SPD12B and SPD12C are expected to be installed by DOT during the next coming months.
